ART of ANGEL WOOD
Have you ever heard of the country named Liberia?
It is located in the southwest part of West Africa on the Atlantic Ocean. It is the oldest republic in Africa.
Liberia had civil wars until 15 years ago. The wars produced approximately 270,000 deaths and 790,000 refugees. And even now, due to the poor living conditions, many of the war victims’ children die every year. For us this is hard to believe as we enjoy the benefits of recent technologies such as cell phones, TV games, and others in our daily lives. We take our lifestyles for granted, but it is really true that the poor living conditions of Liberia exist on the very same earth on which we live.
However, they have a tree in Liberia that produces a most beautiful wood known as mahogany. It is a very valuable tree that also grows in South America. There, lumbering mahogany is now prohibited, it is a very scarce wood in the world. We have gathered many artists and creators who have helped us establish a brand named “ART of ANGEL WOOD” that is using Liberian mahogany to support children to leave their terrible living environments.
“ART of ANGEL WOOD” designs accessories made of Liberian mahogany, diamonds, silver, platinum, and other materials. The longer we wear the accessories, the better the mahogany on the pieces looks; the better they look on us; the better they fit our emotional space. The color and the gloss will deepen year after year. The diamonds and platinum will never lose their sparkle. We can see the mysterious fusion of ores and wood.
We use diamonds from Sakha Republic, one of the republics of the Russian Federation which, with the support of Sakha Diamond Corporation, supplies the best quality diamonds in the world. Sakha Diamond Corporation is the only Japanese company who has its own local diamond polishing factory in Sakha. People acclaim that the sparkle of a Sakha Diamond is of world-class level.
In “ART of ANGEL WOOD” products, you will see the unique and high-level skill of Japanese craftsmen, the design of Kenji Koga, an artist pursuing the world peace, and his “Zen” spirit which is the basis of his designs.
A portion of the sales of the wonderful products is donated to support the reconstruction of the Republic of Liberia.
<What is the Republic of Liberia?>
It was founded as a slave emancipation project of the United States and became independent in 1847. Two civil wars from 1989 to 2003 left the country in a state of disarray, but after Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was elected in 2005 as the first female President in Africa, the country started its journey toward democracy. However there are still many war orphans in the country.
The Liberian Motto: THE LOVE OF Liberty Brought Us Here
